RAPID CITY, S.D. — Young mathematicians showcased their elite problem-solving skills at the recent West River Math Contest on Monday, May 11th, bringing home multiple top honors in highly competitive categories! The rigorous competition challenges the region's brightest minds, requiring immense dedication, quick thinking, and months of preparation.

A special shout-out goes to four exceptional local students who fought their way through tough brackets to secure coveted spots in the top five of their respective divisions:

• 🥈 Emma Schilling – 2nd Place, Algebra 2

• 🥉 Ian Cho – 3rd Place, Algebra 2

• 🏅 Jasper Fjelland – 5th Place, Algebra 2

• 🏅 Elise Billington – 5th Place, Geometry

Our students absolutely owned the Algebra 2 division this year, proving that Spartan mathletes are a force to be reckoned with! Securing three out of the top five spots in a single division is a rare and impressive achievement! 💥
